In chiropractic we often talk about turning the power on. Of course, the power that we are talking about is your Life Force, your Innate Intelligence. This power recreates you cell by cell, day by day and it also governs every function of every cell in your being. On top of all that it adapts you to the ever changing world that you experience on an ongoing basis. B.J. Palmer referred to this power as an infinite, inexhaustible, perfect intelligence which always works to heal the living thing, which it runs, while always acting for the good of the entire universe. Sounds amazing doesn’t it?
It IS amazing, but what would happen to you if this power was turned OFF, for even just a split second?……………………………………….You, my friend would die.
The point that I am trying to make is that this power is only turned off once in your life time; at the time of your passing. It can, however, be turned DOWN, which is what happens when we become subluxated.
Think of a dimmer switch that runs a light bulb. When the switch is turned fully on the light bulb burns brightest, when the switch is turned down the light gets dimmer because there is less energy flowing to the light bulb.
Subluxations act like dimmer switches and they dim down the amount of life force flowing from the brain to the body. Then the activity in the cells gets sluggish and we do not respond to our environment as effectively as we could. Furthermore, it becomes more difficult to hear the voice of our innate, our Friend Within.
The chiropractic adjustment restores the flow of life, the power, fully, every time. The adjustment turns the power UP! Then as the nerve heals over time, the body responds, cell function improves, we build healthier cells and we are able to adapt more efficiently. We can hear the call of the Friend Within more clearly.
So the adjustment restores the flow and the physical body always responds in a favorable manner. It is the chiropractor’s responsibility to ensure that the power is always turned up 100%. What is the patient’s responsibility?
• Let the chiropractor do their job by getting adjusted as often as you need to.
• Realize that stress causes subluxations and work at decreasing stress from physical, chemical and emotional areas so you hold your adjustments better.
• Turn inward and let this perfect intelligence guide you; follow your intuition or as BJ said, “Heed that Hunch.”
If you do you will create a great LIFE
